πŸ’‘ The essentials

YAM Nutrition is a serious brand from Nice, and its Whey Isolate made from French milk is the cheapest per kilo in our whey isolate comparison. Its limits: no unflavoured version, sucralose in every flavour, and a whey that is not native.

  • The product to remember: the Whey Isolate, 82 to 84 g of protein per 100 g, from €44.42 to €51 per kilo (checked in October 2026).
  • Customer reviews: 3.9/5 on Trustpilot (221 reviews), 4.95/5 on the brand’s site for the isolate (261 reviews).
  • Promo code: 10% off your first order from €50 via the newsletter, free delivery to a pick-up point from €69.
  • If you want an unflavoured, native whey with no sweetener: Nutripure’s Whey Isolate Native is still purer.

You have come across YAM Nutrition on YouTube and you are wondering whether their whey is worth it? We went through the labels, prices and published reviews of every whey the brand sells, to tell you which one to pick and when to look elsewhere. YAM is a French brand and ships from France.

Spoiler: the YAM isolate is very good value for money if you like flavoured shakes, as in our ranking of the best whey isolate, where it has the lowest price per kilo. The rest of the range is more debatable.

πŸ”¬ Our method

We compared the official product pages of YAM Nutrition’s four whey-based products (nutrition facts, ingredients, prices checked on 3 October 2026), the ratings published on Trustpilot, Avis VΓ©rifiΓ©s and the brand’s site, and the French company register (Pappers). Nutripure is an affiliate partner of this site, which earns it no extra stars. No lab testing and no tasting.

🏒 Who is YAM Nutrition?

YAM Nutrition is the brand of Christophe Bonnefont, a fitness coach and former French and European martial arts and bodybuilding champion, according to his biography at the publisher Thierry Souccar. He runs the YouTube channel Biceps & Brocoli; the brand claims “more than 60,000 customers” since 2015.

Legally, the site is run by Greenbull Nutrition, an SAS (French simplified joint-stock company) based in Nice and founded in 2011 (RCS Nice 538 393 158). According to Pappers, Christophe Bonnefont is its managing director and it posted turnover of €2.47 million in 2025: a small independent brand, not an industrial group.

Its positioning: “healthy” nutrition in the mid-range, with a wide catalogue (sweet potato flour, protein, creatine, collagen, books), also sold through resellers such as Fitadium. The site does not name its manufacturers; only the isolate’s product page states where the milk comes from.

πŸ₯› YAM Nutrition whey: the whole range (October 2026)

YAM currently sells a whey isolate, a blend of isolate and egg white, a whey concentrate and a gainer. Here is what their labels say, product by product.

Whey Isolate: the brand’s star product

Product page of YAM Nutrition's Whey Isolate

It is a whey isolate with 82 g of protein per 100 g in chocolate and 84 g in vanilla, which is 33 to 34 g per 40 g serving, with 3.5 to 4.3 g of carbohydrates and 1.5 to 2 g of fat. Ingredients: instant whey isolate, cocoa (chocolate), flavouring and sucralose.

Its real selling point: 100% French milk, collected and processed by a dairy cooperative, cold microfiltered (FSSC 22000 and Halal certified). Only two flavours, Belgian chocolate and vanilla, and no unflavoured version.

Prices checked in October 2026: €45.90 for 900 g (€51/kg), €84.90 for 1.8 kg (€47.17/kg) and €159.90 for 3.6 kg (€44.42/kg). Rating on YAM’s site: 4.95/5 from 261 reviews.

A point of vocabulary: YAM itself writes that its isolate cannot be labelled “native milk protein”, because it comes from sweet whey obtained after the milk is curdled with rennet. A good isolate, then, but not a native whey in the strict sense.

Whey Isolate Optimum+: isolate and egg white

Product page of YAM Nutrition's Whey Isolate Optimum+

This is not a pure whey: it is a blend of whey isolate and egg albumin, with 81 to 85 g of protein per 100 g depending on the flavour (chocolate, vanilla, cookie), sweetened with acesulfame K and sucralose.

Price: €45.90 per kilo, in both the 1 kg and 2 kg sizes (checked in October 2026). Rating on the site: 4.83/5 from 42 reviews. The origin of the milk is not stated.

Whey ProtΓ©ine: the indulgent concentrate

Product page of YAM Nutrition's Whey ProtΓ©ine

This is the lowest-protein whey in the range: a concentrate with 63 to 74 g of protein per 100 g depending on the flavour, with about 11 g of carbohydrates and a busy recipe: carboxymethylcellulose (emulsifier), guar gum (thickener), salt, flavouring, sucralose and acesulfame K.

Four flavours, €39.90 per kilo or €65.90 for 2 kg (€32.95/kg), and 4.94/5 from 53 reviews on the site. A 40 g sample costs €3. Is a concentrate enough for you? Find out in our comparison of whey isolate vs whey concentrate.

Big YAM Lean Gainer: the high-protein gainer

Product page of YAM Nutrition's Big YAM Lean Gainer

Big YAM is a very high-protein gainer: 45 to 48 g of protein per 100 g, for 35 to 40 g of carbohydrates, of which 26 to 36 g are sugars, coming from the milk according to the brand. Base: skimmed milk powder and whey concentrate, with stevia, sucralose and erythritol.

Expect to pay €29.90 per kilo or €78.90 for 3 kg (€26.30/kg), rated 4.93/5 from 43 reviews. Do you really need a gainer? Check with our guide to whey vs mass gainer.

⚠️ Watch out

All these whey products contain milk protein; Optimum+ also contains egg and Big YAM contains peanut. If you have an allergy, kidney disease, are pregnant or are on medication, ask a doctor before taking a supplement.

⭐ YAM Nutrition customer reviews: what the ratings say

The published ratings vary a lot depending on where you look. On its own site (Judge.me widget), YAM shows around 2,400 reviews, 93% of them five stars. On Trustpilot, an independent platform, the rating drops to 3.9/5 from 221 reviews: 75% five stars, but 14% one star.

What comes up on the positive side: the taste of the Belgian chocolate isolate, the sweet potato flour and delivery within 24 to 48 hours. On the negative side: parcels not received or damaged, messages left unanswered, a change to the Big YAM recipe, and one customer claims that mixed reviews were removed from the brand’s site.

Worth noting: of the ten most recent Trustpilot reviews (July 2025 to June 2026), seven are one or two stars. The brand replies to every negative review, but usually after more than a month. On Avis VΓ©rifiΓ©s, its page is still “collecting reviews”.

πŸ’Ά YAM Nutrition promo code: the offers that really exist

The only discount shown by the brand itself is the newsletter one: 10% off your first order from €50. The offers visible on yam-nutrition.com on 3 October 2026:

  • Free delivery to a pick-up point from €69 spent in mainland France (the 1.8 kg and 3.6 kg sizes of the isolate are delivered free).
  • Subscription: 10 to 15% off the isolate, with a minimum commitment of 3 months.
  • Basket gift: a gift is promised from €40 spent.
  • Large sizes: going from 900 g to 3.6 kg brings the isolate’s price per kilo down by about 13%.

Deal sites and influencers publish partner codes for 5%, 10% or 20% off: we could not verify that they work today, so we do not list them. Always compare the final price per kilo.

βš–οΈ YAM Nutrition or Nutripure?

Product page of Nutripure's Whey Isolate Native

We put the YAM isolate’s label side by side with that of Nutripure’s Whey Isolate Native, unflavoured and chocolate, because the verdict changes with the flavour. Both are French brands that ship from France.

Protein per 100 g: YAM Whey Isolate and Nutripure Whey Isolate, unflavoured and chocolate

Let’s be honest: YAM wins on price and on the flavoured isolate. Per kilo of protein, its isolate costs a little less than the unflavoured Nutripure in a comparable size, and its chocolate contains more protein than Nutripure’s chocolate (82 g against 71.2 g), for less money.

On the other hand, Nutripure wins on purity and on the raw material: its unflavoured version contains only the isolate and an emulsifier, with no flavouring or sweetener, a lactose content stated below 0.2% and a genuine native whey. It slips into porridge, whey protein pancakes or a yoghurt without a sweet taste, which YAM does not offer.

Our conclusion: if you want an unflavoured, native whey with no sweetener, go for Nutripure, ideally in the 4 kg size to bring it back to about €47 per kilo. If you want a ready-to-drink chocolate or vanilla shake at the best price, the YAM isolate is an excellent choice.

πŸ† Our verdict on YAM Nutrition

YAM Nutrition is a serious brand that is transparent about its labels, with a flagship product that is genuinely competitive: the isolate made from French milk, with 82 or 84 g of protein and €44.42 per kilo in 3.6 kg. It even states clearly that its isolate is not native.

The rest of the range is less convincing: the Whey ProtΓ©ine is a classic concentrate with an emulsifier, a thickener and two sweeteners, Optimum+ adds egg and two sweeteners for a price close to the isolate, and Big YAM brings a lot of milk sugars. And customer service has drawn recent complaints.

  • YAM is made for you if: you drink your whey from a shaker, you like chocolate or vanilla, and you want an isolate made from French milk at the best price per kilo.
  • YAM is not made for you if: you avoid sucralose, you cook with your whey and want a neutral taste, you insist on a native whey, or you are allergic to egg or peanut (Optimum+, Big YAM).

❓ Frequently asked questions

What do reviews say about YAM Nutrition?

They are good on the products, more mixed on the service. The brand shows around 2,400 reviews on its site, 93% of them five stars, against 3.9/5 from 221 reviews on Trustpilot. The recent negative reviews are mostly about delivery and customer service replies.

What is YAM Nutrition?

It is a French sports nutrition brand founded by Christophe Bonnefont, active since 2015 and run by Greenbull Nutrition, an SAS based in Nice.

Has there been a scandal involving YAM Nutrition?

We found no YAM Nutrition product recall in RappelConso, the official French recall database (checked in October 2026). The visible public criticism consists of customer reviews on Trustpilot: parcels not received, slow replies, a change to the Big YAM recipe.

Is there a YAM Nutrition promo code?

Yes: signing up to the newsletter gives you 10% off your first order from €50. Delivery to a pick-up point is free from €69 in mainland France. The influencer codes published elsewhere could not be verified.

Is YAM Nutrition’s whey isolate native?

No, and the brand says so itself. Its isolate comes from sweet whey obtained after the milk is curdled with rennet, so it cannot be labelled native. To understand the difference, read our article on native whey vs whey isolate.
