💡 The essentials

The best nu3 whey flavour, going by customer reviews, is Vanilla: 4.8/5 across 100 reviews, by far the most reviewed flavour in the range.

  • Next up: Cookies-Cream (4.7/5 across 41 reviews) and Strawberry (4.8/5 across 23 reviews).
  • The surprise: Chocolate is only 5th (4.5/5), and Mango Lassi splits opinion the most (4.2/5).
  • Hazelnut no longer exists: it is marked “withdrawn from sale”. Seven flavours remain available, all at around €40 a kilo (checked in October 2026).

nu3 is a Berlin sports nutrition brand, bought in 2018 by Shop Apotheke Europe, the group that has since become Redcare Pharmacy. The nu3.fr site now redirects to Redcare Pharmacie, and that is where nu3 Performance Whey is sold in France. The practical consequence: the customer reviews are published on an online pharmacy, with a separate score and review count for each flavour.

That is a stroke of luck if you are hunting for the best taste: instead of one overall score that blends every flavour together, you can compare the flavours against each other. One useful clarification before we start: Performance Whey is mainly a concentrate (90% whey concentrate, 5% isolate), not an isolate. If that distinction is lost on you, our article on whey isolate or whey protein sums it up.

🔬 Our method

No tasting on our side: we compared the data published for each flavour. In October 2026, we opened the Redcare Pharmacie page for every nu3 Performance Whey flavour in 1 kg and noted the average score, the number of reviews and the star breakdown, then the price, the ingredients and the nutrition table. The reviews are the ones Redcare displays: the pharmacy states that it publishes positive and negative reviews alike, without verifying the authenticity of every one.

🥛 The nu3 Performance Whey flavours in 2026

Product page for nu3 Performance Whey Vanilla on Redcare Pharmacie

The official page still talks about “eight flavours”. In reality, seven are on sale: Vanilla, Strawberry, Cookies-Cream, Mango Lassi, Iced Coffee, Neutral and Chocolate. The eighth, Hazelnut, survives only in a bundle labelled “withdrawn from sale”. The 30 g vanilla sample has been withdrawn too, so the only way to taste it is to buy the 1 kg tub.

The protein gaps stay modest, between 21.5 and 23.9 g per serving: Chocolate is the lowest (the cocoa takes up room) and Neutral the highest. Every ingredient list we were able to read mentions sucralose and soya lecithin.

🏆 Ranking the best nu3 whey flavours

Chart of the average customer score per nu3 whey flavour, from 4.8 for vanilla down to 4.2 for mango lassi

1. Vanilla, the most reviewed and the best rated

With 100 reviews and 4.8/5, Vanilla combines the largest volume of feedback with the best average: 84 reviews out of 100 give it 5 stars, and only two give it 1 star. It is also the easiest flavour to repurpose, in porridge or a smoothie. Its page flags the presence of lactose and possible traces of gluten and egg.

2. Cookies-Cream, the indulgent one with no bad scores

Cookies-Cream scores 4.7/5 across 41 reviews, with not a single 1-star rating. Its quirk: a lot of 4-star scores (11 out of 41), so a flavour that pleases widely without always thrilling. It shows 22.3 g of protein per serving, the same as Vanilla.

3. Strawberry, a brilliant score but less to go on

Strawberry matches Vanilla at 4.8/5, but across only 23 reviews, none of them below 3 stars. It lands behind Cookies-Cream purely on volume: with that few reviews, two bad scores would be enough to push it down.

Iced Coffee, Chocolate, Neutral and Mango Lassi

Iced Coffee (4.6/5 across 41 reviews) is a good option for coffee lovers, with one customer finding “a real caffe latte taste” in it. Chocolate, usually presented as the safe bet, only comes 5th at nu3 (4.5/5 across 55 reviews, with 4 scores at 1 or 2 stars). Neutral has just 11 reviews, far too few to draw a conclusion. Finally, Mango Lassi is the most divisive flavour: barely more than one review in two gives it 5 stars.

⚠️ Watch out

On the Neutral and Mango Lassi pages, the ingredient list shown is the one from Chocolate (cocoa, flavouring and sucralose included), and the Mango Lassi page refers you to the label for the nutritional values. We were therefore unable to verify whether Neutral really is free of flavouring and sweetener. If you have an allergy or follow a strict diet, trust the label on the tub you receive, and ask a healthcare professional for advice if you need to.

📊 Our nu3 flavour comparison in stars

The stars translate the figures we noted on Redcare, not a tasting impression. “Reviews” combines the average score with the review volume, “Page reliability” drops when the stated formula is incomplete or inconsistent, and ☆☆☆☆☆ flags a missing data point.

🎯 Our verdict: which nu3 whey flavour should you choose?

If you are ordering a single nu3 tub, take the Vanilla: it is the only flavour whose excellent score rests on about a hundred reviews, and it suits every use. For a second tub, Cookies-Cream if you like things indulgent, Strawberry if you prefer fruity. At roughly €40 a kilo (checked in October 2026) from a shop that ships within the EU, Performance Whey remains a decent, affordable whey concentrate rather than a premium whey.

It is not the right choice for everyone. Avoid it if you digest lactose badly (it is a concentrate, and the Vanilla page mentions lactose), if you are allergic to soya (soya lecithin appears in the formulas that are spelled out) or if you want a label with no sweetener. In those cases, an isolate like the ones in our pick of the best whey isolates will suit you better. On the partner side, Nutripure whey is the one we put forward:

✅ How to choose your nu3 flavour without a sample

  1. Look at the star breakdown, not just the average: on Redcare, every page shows the number of 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5-star reviews. A 4.2 with several 1-star scores (Mango Lassi) does not mean the same thing as a 4.7 with none at all (Cookies-Cream).
  2. Filter the reviews by language: the page lets you show only the reviews written in French, which are easier to interpret on the French store.
  3. Use the 2 kg bundles to mix it up: Redcare also sells Performance Whey as 2 x 1 kg (around €76 in October 2026), which works out slightly cheaper per kilo.
  4. Adjust the liquid: the same flavour tastes sweeter with milk than with water. Our ideas on what to mix your whey protein with can rescue a flavour that disappoints you.

⚖️ The other whey brands with good flavours

nu3 plays the price card rather than the originality one, with a tight flavour line-up. If you want more choice or a whey isolate, other brands are worth a look: compare them in our ranking of the best whey protein brands.

❓ Frequently asked questions

What is the best nu3 whey flavour?

Vanilla, with 4.8/5 across 100 reviews published on Redcare Pharmacie. It comes ahead of Cookies-Cream (4.7/5 across 41 reviews) and Strawberry (4.8/5, but across only 23 reviews). Chocolate only comes 5th.

Where can you buy nu3 whey now that nu3.fr has gone?

From Redcare Pharmacie: the nu3.fr address redirects straight to the brand’s page on redcare-pharmacie.fr. nu3 has belonged since 2018 to the Shop Apotheke Europe group, now Redcare Pharmacy. The 1 kg tub costs around €40 there (checked in October 2026).

Does nu3 whey contain sucralose?

Yes, the page presents it as “no refined sugar, sweetened with sucralose”. EFSA confirmed in 2026 that sucralose is safe at its authorised uses, with an acceptable daily intake of 15 mg per kilo of body weight. It does, however, advise caution about cooking at high temperatures, which is worth bearing in mind for your whey protein pancakes.

Is nu3 Hazelnut whey still available?

No, Hazelnut is no longer sold: Redcare shows it as “withdrawn from sale”. For an indulgent flavour in the nu3 range, Cookies-Cream is now the best-rated alternative.
