💡 The essentials
At Decathlon, only two supplements are genuinely worth buying for strength training: the whey (concentrate or isolate) and creatine monohydrate. The mass gainer is only useful if you struggle to eat enough. BCAAs, for their part, are not a priority.
- Best buy: Decathlon Pure Whey Protein 100% Isolate.
- Tight budget: Decathlon Whey Protein (concentrate).
- Skip first: BCAAs on their own.
Decathlon does not only sell dumbbells: the chain has its own sports nutrition range (formerly Corength, now sold under the Decathlon brand) and also resells names such as Optimum Nutrition. So how good are these products for building muscle, and which ones deserve a place in your basket?
This guide goes through the six most useful supplements in the catalogue, their prices as checked in October 2026 and our reservations, including about the chain’s customer service. Buckle up! 🚀
🔬 Our method
We compared Decathlon’s official product pages (nutritional values, ingredients, scores from Decathlon’s panel of testers, prices checked on Decathlon Pro in October 2026) and set them against the ISSN’s positions on protein and creatine, plus the scientific reviews on BCAAs. For service quality, we rely on the customer reviews published on Trustpilot. No laboratory testing was carried out.
🏆 The best Decathlon supplements for strength training
1. Decathlon Whey Protein (formerly Corength)

This is the entry point to the range: a whey concentrate made in France, with 21 g of protein per 30 g serving, sweetened with stevia. It comes in chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, caramel, cookies & cream and a neutral unflavoured version, in 30 g sachets, 450 g and 900 g tubs or a 1.5 kg format depending on the flavour.
Expect to pay around €35 for the 900 g tub (checked in October 2026). The full ingredient breakdown, the price per gram of protein and the profiles it does not suit are all in our full review of Decathlon whey.
2. Decathlon Pure Whey Protein 100% Isolate

This is the most protein-dense product in the range: 25 g per shake, for 0.5 g of sugars, with no aspartame, sucralose or acesulfame K. Decathlon’s organic whey has been discontinued, so this is now the chain’s premium option.
It costs around €46 for 900 g (checked in October 2026), roughly ten euros more than the concentrate. Chocolate is its best-rated flavour with the Decathlon panel (4.5/5): the flavour-by-flavour detail sits in our guide to the best Decathlon whey flavour.
PSSSSSSSST! Looking for an even more premium whey? Go and take a look at Nutripure 🤫, our recommendation on this site.
3. Decathlon Creapure® creatine monohydrate

If you were only going to buy one supplement on top of your whey, this would be it. For the ISSN, creatine monohydrate is the most effective supplement available for increasing high-intensity exercise capacity and lean mass during training, with a maintenance dose of 3 to 5 g a day. The Decathlon version is vegan, unflavoured and carries the Creapure® label.
The 300 g tub goes for around €22 (checked in October 2026), which works out at roughly two months at 5 g a day. To pair it with your shakes, see our guide to whey and creatine.
4. Decathlon oat and whey muscle gainer

A mass gainer is only useful if you find it hard to hit your calorie surplus through food. One shake delivers 375 kcal, 36 g of protein and 45 g of carbohydrate, built on whey and oats. It scored 4.2/5 with Decathlon’s panel of testers.
Expect around €35 for 1.5 kg (checked in October 2026). If you are torn between this and a plain whey, our comparison of whey or mass gainer will help you decide.
5. Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey Protein

Gold Standard is the best-known branded whey sold at Decathlon: 24 g of protein and 5.5 g of BCAAs per serving. It costs considerably more than the own-brand whey: around €45 for the 775 g tub in double chocolate (checked in October 2026).
It is up to you whether the badge justifies the gap: per kilo it works out dearer than the Decathlon isolate (around €58 against €51), even though the isolate delivers more protein per shake (25 g against 24 g). Our verdicts on the flavours sit on our page about the best Gold Standard whey flavour.
6. Optimum Nutrition Train & Sustain BCAA amino acids

These BCAAs, boosted with Rhodiola rosea and electrolytes, are sold as reducing fatigue and supporting the immune system. The science is more cautious than the marketing: a review published in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition concludes that the claim that BCAAs on their own stimulate muscle protein synthesis is not justified.
A whey already supplies BCAAs alongside every other essential amino acid (5.2 g of BCAAs per serving for the Decathlon chocolate whey). At around €31 for the 266 g tub (checked in October 2026), this is not the purchase to make first.
📊 Summary: how good is each Decathlon supplement?

🎯 What should you order first at Decathlon, depending on your goal?

- Building muscle: a whey (the isolate if the budget allows) and creatine, the most solid combination there is.
- Gaining weight when you eat very little: the muscle gainer, on top of your meals, never instead of them.
- Losing fat while keeping muscle: the isolate, almost sugar-free, to top up your protein intake.
- Getting stronger: creatine first.
Whatever your goal, no supplement replaces your training and your diet. On how much protein to aim for, the ISSN talks about 1.4 to 2 g per kilo of body weight per day for most athletes: our guide to how much whey protein per day helps you run the numbers.
🛒 Buying your supplements at Decathlon: prices, delivery and service
Decathlon’s big advantage is being able to buy your whey in store, with no parcel to wait for. Online, the chain also runs a protein subscription: 10% off every delivery and free delivery to a pick-up point, with no commitment. Clubs and associations go through Decathlon Pro instead.
On price, the own-brand range stays reasonable without being the cheapest on the market: around €39 per kilo for the whey concentrate in the 900 g tub, slightly less in 1.5 kg. To compare it with the online shops and the other chains, see our guide on where to buy whey protein.
⚠️ Watch out
The decathlon.fr site scores very badly on Trustpilot: 1.6/5 across more than 3,300 reviews in October 2026, with recurring complaints about late deliveries, parcels never received, refunds and how hard it is to reach customer service. Those reviews cover the whole site rather than the whey, but they do make the case for collecting in store whenever you can.
Credit where it is due on equipment after-sales, though: Decathlon runs a dedicated repair site, support.decathlon.fr, with spare parts, maintenance tutorials and workshop appointment booking. Handy for your benches and dumbbells, less so for a tub of whey.
⚖️ Our verdict on Decathlon supplements
Decathlon’s nutrition range is serious and straightforward: French-made for the whey, sucralose-free, tested by panels of athletes. It is an excellent starting point for a beginner, or for anyone who would rather buy in store. We also like the fact that the creatine carries the Creapure® label at a fair price.
It is not the chain for you if you want the lowest price per kilo, a native whey or seriously indulgent flavours. For those profiles, look at the specialist brands, starting with the alternatives below.

❓ Frequently asked questions
Are Decathlon food supplements good quality?
Yes, for most of the own-brand range. The whey is made in France at an IFS Food certified site and the creatine carries the Creapure® label. These are simple, reliable products rather than premium ones.
What is Decathlon’s whey protein brand?
The own-brand whey is sold under the Decathlon name, formerly Corength. The chain also resells outside brands, most notably Optimum Nutrition with its Gold Standard whey.
Can you buy whey protein directly in a Decathlon store?
Yes, Decathlon whey is sold both in store and online. Which lines are in stock varies from store to store, so check availability online before making the trip.
Should you take BCAAs on top of whey?
No, it is not necessary if you are already taking a whey. Whey contains BCAAs along with every essential amino acid, whereas BCAAs on their own are not enough to stimulate muscle protein synthesis according to the JISSN review cited above.
