💡 The essentials
For a first order of Harder whey, take Chocolate Caramel or Hazelnut Chocolate: they are the only two flavours made with real cocoa, and not one of the customer reviews we read gives them less than 4 stars.
- In the mood for fruit: Raspberry Kiwi, the fruity flavour mentioned most often in the reviews.
- The most protein and zero sweeteners: Unflavoured, 92 g of protein per 100 g and a single line of ingredients.
- The same price for all 10 flavours: around €65 for the 760 g pouch (recorded in October 2026).
Whey Harder is the own brand of FitnessBoutique, sold online and in the chain’s French stores. Since its reformulation it is a 100% native isolate whey, made in France from French milk, which puts it at the premium end (and among the highest prices on the shelf). When you are paying around €65 for a 760 g pouch, picking the wrong flavour is expensive.
The good news: the 10 flavours do not all carry exactly the same label, and those gaps help you choose. Some contain cocoa, others coffee extract or strawberry powder, and only one does without flavourings and sweeteners. If you are still unsure about the type of protein, read our native whey guide first.
🔬 Our method
We have not tasted these wheys: this ranking rests purely on public data. In October 2026 we recorded, from the official FitnessBoutique product page, the list of flavours, the price, the ingredients and the nutrition table for each one. We then went through roughly 600 customer reviews published on that page (out of 1,759 shown), noting the ones that name a flavour and the score they give. For the sweeteners, we rely on the EFSA opinions.
🥛 The 10 Harder whey flavours and their labels

According to its product page, Whey Harder comes in a single size, the 760 g pouch (25 servings), at the same price for every flavour, which works out at around €85 per kilo (recorded in October 2026). All 10 flavours were in stock when we checked. Here is what the nutrition table says for each one:
| Flavour | Protein / 100 g | Sugars / 100 g | What sets it apart |
|---|---|---|---|
| Unflavoured | 92 g | 4.5 g | 100% isolate, no flavouring and no sweetener |
| Cookies | 89 g | 3.9 g | possible traces of fish, soya, gluten |
| Vanilla | 88 g | 5.3 g | flavourings only |
| Raspberry Kiwi | 88 g | 4.7 g | beetroot juice, citric acid |
| Banana | 87 g | 4.2 g | beta carotene colouring |
| Coffee Caramel | 87 g | 4.3 g | 1% soluble coffee extract |
| Strawberry | 87 g | 4.6 g | 0.1% strawberry powder |
| Peanut Butter | 86 g | 3.9 g | possible traces of fish, soya, gluten |
| Chocolate Caramel | 84 g | 4.1 g | 5.2% low fat cocoa |
| Hazelnut Chocolate | 84 g | 4.3 g | 5.2% low fat cocoa |
Brought back to the recommended 30 g serving, the gap between flavours stays small: from around 25 g of protein (the cocoa versions) to almost 28 g (Unflavoured). The cocoa simply takes up a little room in the powder. So it is not a decisive criterion, unless you are counting every gram.

🏆 The best Harder whey flavours, according to the published reviews
Whey Harder shows 4.7/5 from 1,759 reviews on the FitnessBoutique site. But the vast majority of those reviews talk about quality or digestion, and very few name a flavour: out of the roughly 600 reviews we were able to go through, a few dozen at most cite a flavour. The ranking below therefore crosses those mentions with the label, with no claim to statistical precision.
1. Chocolate Caramel and Hazelnut Chocolate: the safest choice
These are the only two Harder flavours that contain real cocoa (5.2% low fat cocoa), and every review that mentions them gives 4 or 5 stars. One customer compares Chocolate Caramel to “a drinking chocolate from my childhood”, another calls his Hazelnut Chocolate and Banana pouches “excellent”. The trade off is tiny: 84 g of protein per 100 g, the lowest in the range.
2. Raspberry Kiwi: the fruity one that stands out
Raspberry Kiwi is the fruity flavour named most often in the recent reviews (level with Banana), averaging 4.6/5 across those mentions. One buyer likens it to a raspberry drinking yoghurt. It contains a little citric acid, which explains its tangy edge: a good choice if creamy shakes are starting to bore you.
3. Vanilla: the most versatile, not the most praised
Vanilla goes with everything (milk, fruit, porridge oats), but the reviews that mention it are more divided: from “delicious” to a 3/5 complaining that it mixes badly. It is also the flavour with the most sugars on the label (5.3 g per 100 g). Worth taking if you want a base to build on in your whey protein recipes.
The other flavours: Banana, Coffee Caramel, Strawberry, Cookies, Peanut Butter
Banana is very well liked but has a reputation for being powerful: one customer finds it “very strong” and mixes it with the raspberry kiwi, on the advice of a shop assistant. Coffee Caramel and Strawberry each appear only once in the reviews we read, and we found no review at all naming Cookies or Peanut Butter: not enough to recommend them or to warn you off them.
📊 The Harder flavours compared in stars
This table rates each flavour on verifiable criteria, not on a taste we have not tested. “Reviews” reflects the average and the number of mentions in the reviews we read (☆☆☆☆☆ = not enough mentions), and “Label” reflects the length of the ingredient list and the presence of sweeteners.
| Flavour | Published reviews | Protein | Label | Use in recipes |

🎯 Our verdict: which Harder whey flavour should you choose?
If you could only buy one pouch, we would take Chocolate Caramel: real cocoa, unanimously positive feedback in the reviews that mention it, and a flavour that works just as well with water as with milk. For variety, Raspberry Kiwi brings a genuine contrast. And for cooking, Unflavoured is the only logical choice: EFSA points out that the formation of chlorinated compounds when sucralose is strongly heated cannot be ruled out, and every other flavour contains it.
Whey Harder is not for everyone. It does not suit tight budgets (around €85 per kilo), nor anyone who wants to try several flavours cheaply, since the product page offers only one 760 g size. Anyone allergic to fish, soya or gluten should avoid Cookies and Peanut Butter, whose labels flag possible traces. To compare it with cheaper isolates, see our comparison of the best whey isolates, where we recommend Nutripure in particular.
ℹ️ Good to know
FitnessBoutique promotes a number 1 ranking for Whey Harder by the French consumer magazine 60 Millions de consommateurs. That test looks at the quality of the protein, not at the taste: it does not separate the flavours from one another.
✅ How to find your Harder flavour without wasting a pouch
- Start from what you already like eating: a lover of chocolate puddings has little reason to start with Strawberry.
- Filter the reviews on the product page: search for the flavour name in the reviews (Ctrl+F) and read the 3/5 scores too, often more revealing than the 5/5 ones.
- Drop into a store if there is one near you: Whey Harder is sold in the FitnessBoutique shops in France, and the staff sometimes suggest flavour blends.
- Fix a flavour that is too strong rather than binning it: half a scoop of Unflavoured softens a Banana that is too powerful, and the whey to water ratio changes how the taste comes across a great deal.
⚖️ Other whey brands known for their flavours
FitnessBoutique does well on flavours, but other brands offer more of them or gentler prices. Our ranking of the best whey protein brands compares them, and we have devoted a guide to the flavours of some of them:

Does Harder whey contain sweeteners?
Yes, every flavoured version contains acesulfame K and sucralose, and only the Unflavoured version is free of them.
