💡 The essentials

  • Action sells a single whey powder right now: XXL Nutrition Cookies & Cream, $16.77 for 510 g (read on action.com on 27 October 2026).
  • 72.3 g of protein and 10 g of sugars per 100 g: a sweet flavoured whey, not an isolate.
  • About $45.50 per kilo of protein, cheaper than most branded wheys, but in a small tub and with no ingredient list published online.
  • For a pure, traceable whey, Nutripure Whey Isolate Native remains our first choice (86.8 g of protein, French milk, no sweetener in the unflavoured version).

You spotted whey on the shelves of Action, the discount store, and wonder whether it is a good deal? We recorded what the chain actually sells today, read the product page line by line and worked out the price per kilo of protein, the only figure that lets you compare two wheys.

🔬 Our method

Every figure on this page comes from the official product page on action.com, read on 27 October 2026: price, size, nutrition facts per 100 g. Action bills in euros: dollar prices are converted at the European Central Bank rate of 26 October 2026 (1 € = $1.1188). The price per kilo of protein is our calculation. We do not taste the products or run lab tests: we compare labels, with the same grid as our ranking of the best whey protein.

🛒 Which whey does Action sell?

On 27 October 2026, Action’s website listed a single whey powder, in its sports food and care section. The rest of the protein shelf is bars, crisps, wafers and ready-to-drink shakes (XXL Nutrition, Accelerate, IronMaxx, Clean Nutrition, Corny), plus an oat protein and a mass gainer.

  • XXL Nutrition Cookies & Cream whey: 510 g (17 servings), $16.77, or $32.88 per kilo.
  • XXL Nutrition vanilla oat protein: 420 g, $5.58. Not a whey: it is a plant protein.
  • Accelerate vanilla mass gainer: 12 sachets of 80 g, $11.13. A gainer is mostly carbohydrates, not to be confused with a whey (read whey vs mass gainer).

ℹ️ Good to know

Action’s range changes from one week to the next: the chain announces 150 new items every week, and a product can vanish from the website and the store. The site does not sell online: check availability at your store before you go.

Product page of the XXL Nutrition Cookies & Cream whey on action.com

The product page states 72.3 g of protein per 100 g, or 21 g per 30 g serving, for 378 kcal, 10.4 g of carbohydrates including 10 g of sugars, 2.9 g of fat and 1.07 g of salt per 100 g. That is the profile of a flavoured whey concentrate: decent protein, but far more sugar than an isolate.

The ingredient list is not published on the online page, nor the milk origin, nor any sweetener. With 10 g of sugars per 100 g, part of the cookie taste comes from sugar. Read the tub’s label in store before buying if you avoid certain additives or watch your sugar.

💶 Action whey or Nutripure: the real price per kilo of protein

Price per kilo of protein: XXL Nutrition whey sold at Action compared with Nutripure Whey Isolate Native

Per kilo of powder, Action’s whey looks unbeatable ($32.88). But a powder with 72% protein also contains sugar and flavourings: the right calculation is the price per kilo of protein.

WheyProtein / 100 gPrice recordedPrice per kilo of protein
XXL Nutrition Cookies & Cream (Action)72.3 g$16.77 for 510 gabout $45.50
Nutripure Whey Isolate Native86.8 gfrom $50.23 (750 g) to $212.46 (4 kg)about $60 to $77

Action clearly wins on price: about $45.50 per kilo of protein, against $60 to $77 for Nutripure. In exchange you get a less concentrated, sweeter powder in a 17-serving tub, with no ingredients or milk origin published online. Nutripure is a native isolate with 86.8 g of protein, made from French milk in the unflavoured version, with sunflower lecithin as its only additive.

✅ Who is it for? ❌ Who is it not for?

  • For you if you are new to whey and want to try it for less than $17, with taste first.
  • For you if your budget is tight and you take one or two servings a week.
  • Not for you if you watch your sugar, digest lactose poorly (a concentrate contains more than an isolate) or want to know where the milk comes from.
  • Not for you if you take whey every day: a 510 g tub barely lasts two weeks.

🏁 Our verdict on Action whey

Action’s XXL Nutrition whey is a good entry point, not an everyday whey. Its price per kilo of protein is one of the lowest we have recorded, but it is a sweet concentrate, sold in a small tub with no ingredient list online. If you take whey every day, a pure isolate in a large size is a better buy: Nutripure Whey Isolate Native remains our first choice, and our guide on where to buy whey protein compares the other options. ⚠️ Warning

Whey supplements your meals, it does not replace them. If you have a milk protein allergy, are pregnant or have kidney disease, ask your doctor before taking any. For the right dose, read how much whey protein per day.
