💡 The essentials

At Zumub, the safest choice is Chocolate: it is the only 100% Whey Concentrate flavour whose full label the brand publishes (21.4 g of protein per 30 g serving), and it exists in every format.

  • Next up: Cookies & Cream and Vanilla, the two other flavours Zumub puts forward.
  • For the curious: Rice Pudding and Apple Pie, worth tasting first in a 30 g sachet.
  • Sweetener-free: the Unflavoured version. Zumub publishes no score per flavour, so our ranking rests on the label and the formats, not on a tasting.

Zumub is a Portuguese sports nutrition site that sells, alongside third-party brands, its own whey concentrate at an aggressive price and in fifteen flavours, some of them unusual, such as Rice Pudding. The problem when you come to choose: Zumub publishes far less information per flavour than its rivals, with no score per flavour and no detailed label for each one.

So this guide works with what is published, and says so plainly: our ranking is more cautious than it is for other brands, for want of data. You will find the up-to-date flavour list, what the label actually says, the customer reviews, the other Zumub wheys and the least risky way to test a flavour.

🔬 Our method

No tasting on our side: everything below comes from the official product pages and the published reviews. In October 2026 we noted, on zumub.com, the flavours available per format, the published label (the Chocolate version), the formulation commitments, the prices and the review breakdown for 100% Whey Concentrate, then the same data for 100% Whey Isolate and Black Whey. We rounded that out with Zumub’s guarantee, its Trustpilot page and EFSA’s file on sweeteners.

🥛 The 15 flavours of Zumub 100% Whey Concentrate

Product page for 100% Whey Concentrate on the official Zumub site

The product page lists 15 flavours in October 2026, but not all of them are available in every format. The marketing copy still talks about “7 delicious flavours”: the range has grown faster than the page.

  • The classics: Chocolate, Vanilla, Cookies & Cream, Strawberry, Banana, Chocolate-Vanilla
  • The indulgent ones: Salted Caramel, Peanut Butter, Coffee, Mint Chocolate
  • The unusual ones: Rice Pudding, Apple Pie, Tropical, Dulce de Leche
  • No flavouring: Unflavoured

Three flavours call for care when you order. Dulce de Leche is out of stock in every bag size (500 g to 4 kg) and can only be found in the 30 g sachet. Mint Chocolate exists only in the 1 kg bag, with stock nearly gone when we checked. Tropical is offered only in 500 g and 1 kg, and the Unflavoured version does not come as a sachet.

On reviews, the whey shows 4.5/5 across 3,839 reviews, of which 2,960 are 5-star and 126 are 1-star. That score is shared across every flavour, and among the reviews highlighted on the page the complaints are about price rises and a sachet that arrived torn, not about one particular taste.

🏆 The best Zumub whey flavours

1. Chocolate: the benchmark flavour

Chocolate is the only flavour whose full label Zumub publishes. Per 30 g: 21.4 g of protein, 110 kcal and 1.2 g of sugars. The formula: 93% whey concentrate, 5% low-fat cocoa, a chocolate flavouring, xanthan gum, salt and two sweeteners (acesulfame K and sucralose). This is the flavour to pick if you want to know exactly what you are drinking, and it is available from the sachet right up to the 4 kg pack.

2. Cookies & Cream: the indulgent one Zumub pushes

Zumub names Cookies & Cream first in the write-up for its whey, ahead of Chocolate, Vanilla and Strawberry. The brand does not publish its detailed label: all we know is that every flavoured version contains at least 93% whey and delivers between 21.4 g and 22.7 g of protein per serving.

3. Vanilla: the easiest to pair with anything

Vanilla is the most versatile flavour in the range, the one that works best with a piece of fruit, porridge oats or a yoghurt. It is part of the trio Zumub puts forward and it exists in every format. To vary how you use it, our guide on what to mix your whey protein with has some simple ideas.

Rice Pudding, Apple Pie: the unusual ones

These are Zumub’s most original flavours, and the riskiest to buy blind: with no detailed label and no score per flavour, there is no way to say whether they come off. The good news is that both exist in the 30 g sachet: taste them before you buy a kilo.

Unflavoured: for cooking without sweetener

According to Zumub, the unflavoured version is 100% whey protein and contains no sweetener at all. That makes it the right option for your recipes, or if you would rather dial in the sweetness yourself. On its own with water it keeps the milky taste of whey, and our article on the whey to water ratio helps you land on the right texture.

📊 The Zumub flavours compared in stars

The stars translate the data Zumub publishes, not a tasting impression. “Published label” measures how much we know about the formula, “Formats” the number of sizes genuinely available (from the sachet to the 4 kg pack), and ☆☆☆☆☆ flags a missing criterion.

🔎 What about the other Zumub wheys?

The whey concentrate is not the brand’s only whey: Zumub also sells a whey isolate and a jet-black “Black Whey” in a single flavour, two products that come up often in searches.

100% Whey Isolate: 8 flavours, more protein

Product page for 100% Whey Isolate on the official Zumub site

The isolate offers a shorter line-up: Chocolate, Vanilla, Banana, Mint Chocolate, Coffee, Strawberry, Chocolate-Vanilla and Unflavoured. Its Chocolate version delivers 24.7 g of protein and 0.5 g of sugars per 30 g serving, with the same sweeteners as the concentrate. It shows 4.5/5 across roughly 2,600 reviews and costs around €40 a kilo (checked in October 2026). If you have your heart set on Mint Chocolate, this is where it is genuinely available, in every format. To place it against the rest, see our comparison of the best whey isolates.

Black Whey: a single flavour that divides opinion

Product page for Black Whey on the official Zumub site

Black Whey comes only in Black Cookies, and it is the worst-rated Zumub whey: 3.5/5 across 20 reviews, three of them 1-star. Its black colour comes from a vegetable charcoal colouring; it contains 90% whey concentrate, 21 g of protein per serving and sucralose. One recent review on the page takes issue with precisely that texture and colour. On so few reviews it is hard to call: if it intrigues you, take the 30 g sachet (around €1.50) rather than a bag.

💶 Prices and formats: how to test without getting it wrong

100% Whey Concentrate is sold from the 30 g sachet up to the 4 kg pack: around €1.23 for the sachet, €17.59 for 500 g, €31.99 a kilo (€46.99 crossed out), €61.99 for 2 kg and €122.99 for 4 kg (checked in October 2026), from a Portuguese shop that ships from within the EU. Per kilo it stays cheaper than the Prozis and Myprotein wheys we checked the same month, even on offer.

Three-step method for testing a Zumub whey flavour: 30 g sachet, taste it, then the 1 kg bag

The safest method: order several 30 g sachets in the flavours that tempt you, then a bag of the winner. Twelve flavours exist as sachets, including Rice Pudding, Apple Pie and Dulce de Leche, so for a few euros you can compare three or four flavours before committing to a kilo.

ℹ️ Good to know

Zumub offers a “100% satisfied or your money back” guarantee on its own-brand products, with strict conditions: return within 30 days, no more than a third of the product used, and one claim per customer. It can cover a disappointing flavour, but it is no substitute for the test sachets. Zumub also sells a “Whey Discovery Pack” at around €3 (concentrate, isolate and vegan protein in 30 g sachets), useful for comparing types of protein rather than flavours.

🎯 Our verdict: which Zumub flavour should you choose?

Our advice: one bag of Chocolate, plus two or three sachets to taste Cookies & Cream, Vanilla or one of the unusual ones. That way you have one flavour whose label you know, and you discover the others for a few euros. If the concentrate sits badly with you, move up to the isolate, in Chocolate or Vanilla.

Zumub whey is not for you if you want to know the exact formula of every flavour before you buy, if you avoid acesulfame K and sucralose (in which case take Unflavoured), or if you digest lactose badly: this is a concentrate, and an isolate will be more comfortable, as explained in our article on whey isolate. If you have an allergy, take the “may contain traces” statement seriously, covering gluten, soya, egg, nuts and peanuts, and ask your doctor for advice.

Zumub is good value per kilo, but it is not the whey we recommend first. Our number one is still Nutripure’s Whey Isolate Native, which you will find at the top of our ranking of the best whey proteins.

⚖️ Does Zumub have the best whey flavours?

Zumub stands out for the originality of a few flavours and for the price, not for transparency. On Trustpilot, Zumub gets 4.2/5 across roughly 7,900 reviews, a score that judges the shop as a whole (delivery, customer service) rather than the taste of the whey.

If you want to compare flavours with more data behind you, Prozis and Myprotein publish the label of every flavour: see the best Prozis whey flavours and the Myprotein ones. For the full picture, taking in Prozis, Nutrimuscle and Nutripure, see our ranking of the best whey protein brands.

❓ Frequently asked questions

What do the reviews say about Zumub whey?

They are fairly good: 4.5/5 across 3,839 reviews for 100% Whey Concentrate on Zumub’s own site. The criticisms it highlights concern price rises and a sachet that arrived torn. On Trustpilot, the Zumub site as a whole gets 4.2/5.

What do the reviews say about Zumub’s whey isolate?

Also 4.5/5, across roughly 2,600 reviews published on the Zumub page. It delivers 24.7 g of protein per serving in the Chocolate version, against 21.4 g for the concentrate, for about €8 more per kilo (checked in October 2026). Its flavour choice is shorter: eight, against fifteen for the concentrate.

How much protein does Zumub whey contain?

Between 21.4 g and 22.7 g per 30 g serving depending on the flavour, according to the brand. The Chocolate version, the only one with a detailed label, delivers 21.4 g for 110 kcal. To work out how much to take, read our guide to how much whey protein per day.

Does Zumub whey contain sweeteners?

Yes for the flavoured versions (acesulfame K and sucralose in the Chocolate), no for the Unflavoured version. EFSA completed its re-evaluation of sucralose in 2026 and considers it safe at its authorised uses, so this is mostly a matter of preference.

Is Zumub a French brand?

No, Zumub is a Portuguese company, based in Agualva-Cacém near Lisbon, selling both its own brand and third-party brands. It ships to France from a French-language site, and it runs an English-language storefront as well.
