💡 The essentials
To buy whey protein in Nantes, three areas cover everything: the city centre (FitnessBoutique, rue du Calvaire), the route de Vannes (Dynamic Store, then FitnessBoutique Orvault) and the east of the city (Gym Wear’s and Decathlon Paridis).
- Most convenient: Decathlon Paridis, with a collection locker you can use 24/7.
- Best advice: the specialist shops, which run tastings.
- Cheapest per kilo: as a rule, the brands’ own websites delivering to Nantes.
In Nantes, the whey protein on offer is split between one city-centre shop, two independent specialists and the big sports superstores on the outskirts. The right choice mostly comes down to your neighbourhood and the time of day you can get there.
Every address below was confirmed as trading in October 2026, either on the retailer’s official page or on a recently updated PagesJaunes listing.
🧭 City centre: FitnessBoutique Nantes Centre
FitnessBoutique Nantes Centre sits at 25 rue du Calvaire, 44000 Nantes, at the top of the street, next to a Basic Fit gym according to the shop’s own page. It opens Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 14:30 to 19:00, and on Saturday from 10:00 to 19:00 with no lunchtime closing.
This is the address to head for if you want to taste before you buy: the chain advertises free supplement tastings and one-to-one advice. Handy for avoiding a 2 kg tub whose flavour you end up hating.
🛣️ Route de Vannes: Dynamic Store and FitnessBoutique Orvault
To the north west, the route de Vannes lines up two sports nutrition shops, one on the Nantes side, the other in Orvault. They are easy to combine in one car trip.
- Dynamic Store, 124 route de Vannes, 44100 Nantes. An independent that also sells online. Mind the opening hours: it opens at 14:00 on Monday and Saturday, and from 10:30 to 19:00 Tuesday to Friday.
- FitnessBoutique Nantes (Orvault), 406 route de Vannes, 44700 Orvault. The chain bills it as its largest showroom in western France, with a nutrition aisle and tastings.
🏬 East Nantes: Gym Wear’s and Decathlon Paridis
- Gym Wear’s, 26 boulevard Jules Verne, 44300 Nantes: a sports supplement specialist for more than 28 years according to its listing, open Monday to Saturday (10:00 to 12:30 and 14:30 to 19:00).
- Decathlon Nantes Paridis, 148 rue du Perray, 44300 Nantes: open Monday to Saturday from 9:00 to 20:00, closed on Sunday.
Decathlon also lists protein in its stores at Saint-Herblain (Atlantis retail park) and Vertou, which helps if you live south or west of the metropolitan area.
🔬 Our method
For this page, we took every shop from the old list and checked its address, opening hours and trading status in October 2026: the FitnessBoutique and Decathlon store pages, the Dynamic Store website, and the PagesJaunes listings for Gym Wear’s and Dynamic Store. We do not test products in store: the scorecard further down simply summarises this public information.

Click and collect is free at Decathlon whatever the size of the parcel, and your order stays available for 7 days. Among the specialists, Dynamic Store for its part advertises free delivery on orders over €100.

🙋 Our verdict: which option suits your profile
If you do not yet know which type of whey protein to take, start with a specialist and read our guide on which whey protein to choose before you go. If you keep rebuying the same product, ordering online or using the Decathlon locker will save you time.
The independent shops are no good to you if Sunday is your only free day, or early in the week in the morning (Dynamic Store does not open until 14:00 on Monday). And if you are pregnant, allergic to milk or living with kidney disease, a doctor’s opinion comes before any whey protein purchase.
